Cranial tumors
Our team has extensive neuro-oncological experience, allowing us to achieve optimal functional outcomes in the treatment of pediatric cranial tumors. We work with other specialists as a first-class multidisciplinary team and in health centers with the most modern technological resources for diagnosis and treatment.
Cranial tumors can affect the cranial bone and the soft tissues of the scalp, face, and/or neck. They are a highly heterogeneous group, depending on the location and histological type, and can be benign or malignant. Therefore, their treatment must be comprehensive and, in some cases, multidisciplinary. Signs and symptoms depend on the location and type of tumor. Most often, they are a palpable, slow-growing mass that may present with local pain and discomfort. When they present rapid growth, changes in the underlying skin, intense localized or generalized pain in the head, and/or facial or ocular symptoms, a neurosurgical consultation is required as soon as possible. Diagnosis is made with complementary studies, such as cranial X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and scintigraphy. Equipment that allows for specific and highly complex studies is essential. Treatment for cranial tumors includes several options: surgery for tumor biopsy or resection, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and other therapies.
Our team is a pioneer in minimally invasive techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of cranial tumors. We are at the forefront and always seeking new alternatives that allow for better treatment and a definitive cure.
