Vascular pathology
They are a heterogeneous group of pathologies characterized by alterations in the arteries and veins of the brain and spinal cord. They can cause bleeding and cerebral infarctions.
Our team has extensive experience in the management and treatment of vascular pathologies in the brain and spinal cord, allowing us to achieve optimal functional results.
Arteriovenous malformations are congenital pathologies characterized by a network of arteries and veins (cerebral or spinal cord) that develops abnormally, generating a vascular nest with high blood flow communication between the affected arteries and veins.
Cerebral aneurysms are dilations in the arteries of the brain caused by a weakness in their walls.
Cavernomas (cavernous angioma or cavernous malformation) are vascular tumors characterized by intercapillary vascular spaces, sinusoids, and large cavernous spaces, without intercalated brain parenchyma, mulberry-shaped, and slow blood flow within them. Moyamoya disease is a disease of the large cerebral arteries characterized by progressive occlusion of these vessels, with the development of new vascular communications.
The clinical manifestations of this group of pathologies vary, but may include chronic or acute headaches (sudden, severe headaches are a sign of cerebral hemorrhage), vomiting, loss of consciousness, seizures, motor weakness in the limbs, and sensory disturbances. If you experience these clinical manifestations, contact our team immediately. In case of emergency, please go to the Health Centers where we work. This complex disease requires an accurate diagnosis, and it is essential to have equipment capable of performing specific and highly complex studies (volumetric tomography, CT angiography, MR angiography, spectroscopy, functional MRI, tractography, and neuronavigation, among others).
We work with other specialists in a first-class multidisciplinary team and in health centers with the most modern technological resources for the diagnosis and treatment of complex vascular pathologies in the brain and spinal cord.
