Brain and spinal infections
They are a heterogeneous group of pathologies that can be caused by different etiological agents (bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi) and in different locations in the brain and spine. They can manifest as meningitis, empyemas, abscesses, or space-occupying lesions. The clinical manifestations of this group vary, but may include fever, headaches, vomiting, loss of consciousness, seizures, and motor weakness in the limbs.
If you experience these symptoms, contact our team immediately. If you are in an emergency, please go to the health centers where we work.
Epidemiological history can guide diagnosis. For a correct diagnosis, it is essential to have equipment capable of performing specific and highly complex studies (volumetric tomography, high-field resonance imaging with spectroscopy, functional MRI, tractography, among others). Treatment should be approached multidisciplinarily, in collaboration with infectious disease specialists and clinicians.
We work in health centers with the most modern technological resources for the diagnosis and treatment of complex infectious diseases of the brain and spinal cord.
